Driveway Basketball Barrier Netting - Customer Photos

Many people have basketball hoops and shooting areas on their residential driveways, and for many different reasons they need to barricade and contain the balls within the surrounding space.  Not only does chasing missed shots and rolling balls waste a lot of time and energy, it also become pretty tedious as well!  Especially considering a lot of the driveway basketball practice areas are close to hills, woods, ravines, other buildings and structures, streams and ponds, and of course roads and traffic.

A great solution to alleviate the inconveniences of chasing arrant basketballs is to use a barrier netting setup around the playing area. supplies netting that works perfectly for this use, and there are numerous different options to consider hanging up.  Most typical for larger object containment (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.) is the 4" mesh knotted nylon netting.  For people that want to block larger objects as well some smaller balls as well (tennis, baseball, street hockey, softball, etc.) there is the 1-3/4" mesh knotted nylon netting that is fantastic to go with.  The nylon netting available from is 100% made in the USA, prepared per-order according to your own preferred custom dimensions, and is a very high-quality durable netting option for longterm installations.  You can take a look at these nets at this page of the Gourock website - and free netting samples are also available to mail out if requested.

Below are 4 photos that were forwarded to us from a recent customer that hung the nylon barrier netting around 3 sides of his backyard court area using the In-Ground Steel Poles that we also have available.  The netting he selected was the multipurpose #21 X 1-3/4" DuPont® twisted-knotted nylon netting, square mesh pattern with a rope bordering, in the dimensions of 10' X 70'.  He then used a series of the In-Ground Steel Poles and Sleeves spaced around the perimeter area to hang the netting from, and used Gourock Bungee Ball Straps to adjust the fit and tension of the netting to match his preferences.

As you can see, the black nylon netting and the black poles do a fantastic job of blending-into the background environment, which keeps the overall installation as minimally visible as possible.  And of course, the nylon netting and poles are designed to be durable and dependable for many years of consistent use and exposure.

This is a great-looking installation and court Bryan!  Thank you again very much - we appreciate it!

Basketball Barrier Net with Poles - Customer Photos supplies many different nets for customers that seek solutions to barricade and block basketballs within their practice area.  Using a basketball barrier netting setup at your location has many advantages over time, since you won't waste much time or energy chasing missed shots and errant balls.  In addition, there are a lot of general safety enhancements as well, considering that rolling basketballs may potentially enter a high traffic area, or wooded areas that may have situations with poison ivy, ticks, or other similar avoidances.

We have many options available to consider for the barrier netting used for basketball applications, both for private residential properties as well as for commercial, municipal, and organizational purposes.  One recent customer of ours sent over a couple photos of his basketball netting setup that he installed at his house.  His hoop and court area had a corner and a back-end that he needed to block errant balls from passing through, since there was a neighbor's fence on one side to avoid damaging, and then a small hill that caused the balls to roll an unnecessary distance from the court.  His preference was a netting solution that would be dependably durable over time, but also be as minimally visible as possible.  The best product match for his use was the #15 X 4" DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon netting, black color, square mesh with a rope bordering around the perimeter edges.

The #15 X 4" nylon netting is the best selection because it has a larger mesh size of 4" square, making it great for large objects like basketballs, soccer balls, and volleyballs.  Also, it has a thin twine thickness of 1.8mm.  So combining those 2 characteristics means that you have the largest mesh size option possible, made from the thinnest twine thickness available, which very much minimizes the overall amount of netting material within the entire area.  That makes it as "invisible" as can expected, but at the same time it retains a high durability due to the high tensile strength characteristic of nylon material.  The #15 is only 1.8mm thick, but has a tensile rating (breaking strength) of 144 lb./twine.  Very strong, very lightweight, and very dependable for basketball barrier nets.  100% Made in USA.

Our customer also utilized the In-Ground Steel Poles that we have available at to purchase.  He used a series of our poles, in conjunction with some of our Bungee Ball Straps, to get a very even and taught netting appearance throughout the entire area.  These are also great to moderate the amount of netting displacement, movement, and reaction to wind.

Here are a couple of photos submitted to us demonstrating the finished product and installation.

It looks really great John!!  Thanks again very much, we appreciate your business and feedback!!

Basketball Barrier Netting, Customer Photos supplies nylon netting for basketball barrier installations for all kinds of different users, ranging from large commercial clients to private residential customers.  There are a lot of really great options available, from a variety of twine thicknesses and mesh sizes - and since the nylon nets are prepared per-order, you have the ability to order any sizing needed for your project.  We have some good netting type selections to take a look at on the Basketball Barrier Netting section of the Gourock site:

One of the most popular selections for home-use and commercial-use basketball barrier netting is the 4" mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting.  This is a black-colored, square mesh pattern netting - constructed from the DuPont® type 66-728 nylon, and is 100% Made in the USA.  There are a couple of options for twine thickness, so that you can go with a lighter-weight net (#15, 1.8mm) or a heavier-weight (#30, 2.3mm) depending on your preferences and expected usage.
Gourock prepares either of those netting options either with or without a 5/16" rope bordering installed around the perimeter edges - so you can have the material supplied as "bulk" cut sections, or as finished and bordered netting panels.

The 4" nylon netting works really well when installed between Gourock's In-Ground Steel Poles, which is a pole/support system that utilizes a ground sleeve/anchor and 2" pole components.  You can view details and installation details about these netting installation poles here:

Many people need barrier netting around their property, driveways, or sport-courts in order to contain basketballs within the play area.  This is often due to safety reasons (for instance, keeping balls from rolling into traffic, or out of wooded areas that may have ticks), for convenience (keeping balls from rolling down hills or driveways), and for consideration of neighbors or surrounding property.  There are 4 different heights available, which are 8', 10', 12', and 14'.  The netting used to hang between the poles can be any length - so you can get as much barrier netting coverage area as you prefer - spacing the poles every 10'-12', which is the recommended placement interval.

Here is a series of photos from one of our recent customers that utilized Gourock's steel poles and nylon netting to complete his basketball barrier netting setup at his home.  You can click on the images to see them larger - and you can get a good idea of how minimally visual all of the materials and poles are.
He went with the #15 X 4" knotted nylon netting with a perimeter rope bordering installed.  And the netting is connected/spanned between three of the 10' in-ground poles.  And you can also see a personalized addition that he made to increase the tension/fit of the netting by designing a general guy-wire support from some rope, stakes, and hooks.

Looks really great John - thank you again!

Driveway Basketball Court Barrier Netting supplies custom netting products that are used for a very wide and diverse range of applications.  One of the very popular uses for our netting is as a barrier against basketballs that roll away from driveway basketball hoops at a private residence.  There are many customers of ours that have a hoop or court area located on their property or driveway - and they are constantly chasing basketballs that roll away from the practice space due to missed shots, or just from general playing.  Sometimes the driveway or property is on a hill, which means their missed shots roll away for quite a distance!  Alternatively, there are instances where errant basketballs have the potential of rolling into a street, or live traffic, or perhaps into the woods or a pond.  All of these are situations that are best avoided by using a barrier net to contain missed shots and rolling/errant balls. has many netting options available that are fantastic for basketball barrier uses, for all types of installation areas including private residences, schools and municipalities, teams and organizations, as well as commercial and professional arenas.  The most popular and recommended selections that we supply for basketball barrier netting are in mesh sizes of 1-3/4", 2", and 4".  There are various twine thicknesses available for each mesh size, and essentially any sort of completed dimensions can be ordered, produced, and shipped to you.  All of those mesh sizes are very functional for basketball barrier uses - and most people choose the netting they want to go with based on additional preferences such as also having the ability to block smaller objects as well, considerations of thicker and thinner twine for visibility or abrasion/wear-and-tear, and whether or not there are concerns with hands/feet being able to go through the mesh.  We have some great recommendations available to view and price/order on this page of the Gourock site.

Barrier netting behind or to the side of driveway basketball hoop and practice areas has always been a popular request for us here at Gourock.  There are always different sizes and situations involved with each particular customer, and in many cases people already have some sort of installation structure available (or being constructed) to hang and suspend the netting from.  However there are many people that not only need the netting, but they also require a system and solution for hanging the nets up.  Fortunately through you have access not only to really functional netting selections, but we also have an In-Ground Steel Pole installation option to consider as well.

The In-Ground Steel Poles use a sectional pole design as well as an in-ground mounting anchor/sleeve that are assembled together and used as standalone supports for barrier nets.  There are 4 different finished sizes to go with, which are 8', 10', 12', and 14' in height.  And since the poles are sectional in design, some customers have opted to eliminate pole sections and achieve shorter heights or other custom preferences.  There is good online information about these poles available on this page of the Gourock site, and we also offer the following video guideline about them as well:

Here are a couple of recent examples of basketball barrier nets that were ordered to custom sizing, along with in-ground steel pole components, that were installed at residential locations.  Both feature basketball hoops on driveways - but use different netting mesh/twine sizes based on personal preferences.  Here are a few of photos provided to us by our customers who reported great results and a lot of product satisfaction from their finished projects.

Example 1:
This is a private residence that opted to use #21 X 1-3/4" knotted nylon netting (square mesh, rope bordered) for the barrier netting.  One of the nets is 12' X 24' and is installed behind the hoop area - suspended between 3 of the 12' tall poles.  The second net is from the same material, but built 4' X 22' and is suspended between 3 of the ground sleeves/anchors that are using only the 33" and 23" pole sections (to accomplish a shorter overall height for the shorter netting).
The tall netting is very typical in size and installation for a lot of basketball barrier nets that are installed behind a driveway basketball hoop.  The shorter netting is more unique since its purpose is only to prevent rolling balls that may come off of the side of the court area and over into the street.  The netting is tensioned/tightened to the poles using Gourock's Bungee Ball Straps.

Example 2:
This is a private residence that needed to only block basketballs from rolling down their driveway and into the adjacent street.  They wanted the lightest and least-visible netting possible, which is the #15 X 4" knotted nylon netting (square mesh, with a rope border).  This net was 5' X 25' in sizing, and also suspended across the driveway between a pair of the 8' poles/anchors - however in order to get the poles down to a shorter overall height they eliminated the 23" pole section from the assembly. A few bungee straps are also used, and they opted to weigh-down the bottom of the netting with some bricks that they had on-hand.

Home Style Batting Cages - Recent Customer Review

The Home-Style Batting Cages that are available through are a very popular and well-received product that we have supplied for many years.  There are options to be shipped the nets on their own (to be hung/suspended within an existing framing or installation structure), or to utilize the netting with the 2" In-Ground Poles that provide a great support design for the batting cage.

Detailed product information is available in the store about the different sizes and options that are available for your consideration - and a recent customer of ours submitted a review and photos of how it all came-together for them this spring:

Just a Thank You.

I just wanted to send a note to your company. I ordered a 12' X 12' X 55'
batting cage system. I have to say...this is the nicest cage for a
home that I have ever seen. It's very study and easy to take down in
high winds (we get that a lot here in Idaho Falls, ID). It's very
roomy and the perfect size for hitting off a machine and pitching
practice. It took approximately 5 hours total to construct...but well
worth it. We are very impressed. Thank you very much! I included some
pictures of the finished product in a corner of our backyard.

I know word of mouth goes a long way. I am very pleased with your product.

Thanks again,
John B.

Thank you very much John!  We really appreciate your business and feedback - your setup looks really great, and enjoy your new batting cage!

Basketball Barrier Net With Poles

The Home Barrier Netting System that is available at is a really functional solution for people that need to block/contain balls and objects within different areas of their property.  Consisting of a dependable ground anchor and steel pole installation, with netting panels clipped to steel attachment points, there are hundreds of potential applications for the Home Barrier Poles.  For some really good context on the materials and components, check out this page of the Gourock site (click here), and also this previously written article (click here) that helps demonstrate the assembly of the poles themselves.

Some very popular applications for this combination of netting and poles include barrier set-ups for baseball & softball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse & hockey, volleyball, golf, and many other multipurpose uses.  Generally speaking, if you are a person that is looking for a solid netting installation system that is an alternative to a permanently-installed post/cable/footing approach - then the Home Barrier Netting System is a really good option to consider.

A recent customer in Texas contacted us seeking information on how he could utilize the Home Barrier Poles and some nylon netting panels in a way that would fit his unique requirements.  Basically, he has a very nice basketball hoop setup on the edge of his driveway - but the way that the property dropped-away behind the hoop was causing all kinds of inconvenient situations with missed shots and basketballs rolling away from their practice area.  In addition to the annoyance of consistently chasing and retrieving basketballs that were rolling away, the lawn area behind the driveway was being destroyed and ripped-up from the excess wear-and-tear from the increased foot traffic on it.  He tried out a couple of potential solutions, which were a small "catch net" that was sourced from a department store - along with layering some burlap material over the worn lawn, however neither accomplished what they needed to.

Here is the photo of the basketball hoop area with generic-net and burlap covering that was forwarded to us while we discussed the matter on the phone:

Using and installing the Home Barrier Poles along with some custom-sized nylon netting panels was the approach used to get things solved for this customer.  The primary characteristics that needed to be considered were that the property grade was quite uneven from one side to the other, and that he wanted to get a fairly wide coverage area for the netting while keeping the overall setup pretty "minimal" as well.  But these things were no problem at all to facilitate.  The way that a solution was packaged for him included:

  • different height poles installed to match the grade as closely as possible, which were a collection of 8' poles and a 10' pole where the property dropped lower.
  • different dimension custom nylon nets that would help alleviate the effect of the slope/height differences, while still getting barrier coverage all the way to the ground.
  • breaking-up the barrier/containment area into two separate pole/netting areas which would allow him to make the fit and installation adjustments to the left and right sides independently - and to his own preferences.
  • using the #21 X 1-3/4" square mesh knotted DuPont® nylon netting, with 5/16" Dacron® rope bordering, for optimal longterm outdoor use for many years.
A couple of days ago he had forwarded over the back and front views of his initial installation of the materials, and he reported back great success achieving his goals.  He opted to source a package of the netting installation bungee-balls that we have available so that he could make a few more netting attachments and installation adjustments - but other than that he was able to get rid of the generic 'catch net' that was on there and should start seeing his worn lawn recover nicely!  Here are the images sent over to us, and hopefully they help you out with a bit more context for some of the barrier netting solutions that you can source through Gourock:

Netting Installation Pole Sizes

The Home Barrier Netting Poles are a very popular and practical way to suspend barrier netting panels, and Home Batting Cage Nets.  They feature a semi-permanent ground anchor that augers into your soil, and then the 2" steel poles slide into the ground sleeve.  Netting is clipped to the welded attachment hook at the top of the pole with the included snap-hooks.  The home barrier poles are not a substitute to a tensioned-cable permanent installation (like at a driving range, stadium, or similar installation), however they are an excellent alternative for installations that:
  • are not permanently installed into property with concrete footings
  • are to be removed or installed seasonally
  • need to be completely removed or moved easily
  • are to be set-up only when needed and stored when not
  • are for most residential barrier solutions
These poles/anchors are not used with a tensioned-cable type of design, so they are typically spaced every 10'-12' in distance to allow for as 'sag-free' of and installation as possible regarding the hanging netting.  These poles are used all of the time for a huge variety of applications, ranging from scholastic/field barricade nets, to backyard basketball/soccer/multisport barrier needs, golf range barrier, and a host of unique uses in-between.

There have been some requests over the years for specific sizes of the pole-sections used for each of the available finished pole lengths.  So below are diagrams that demonstrate the number of sections used, and the length of each section used, for all four heights available.  The home-barrier poles are supplied in sizes of:  8', 10', 12', and 14'For netting installations that require heights that are greater than 14', you'll need to utilize a more permanent installation system (concrete footings & permanent poles) or a tensioned-cable installation.
