Custom Nylon Netting Golf Cage Nets and Batting Cage Nets

Gourock.com specializes in the supply of customized nylon netting productions that are constructed to most any particular dimensions that are required for your installation.  Some typical examples of custom nets are 2-dimensional barrier and protective netting panels, 2-dimensional sections of bulk netting lengths, tapered or uniquely-shaped netting panels, and also 3-dimensional custom netting enclosures.

The last product type listed (3-dimensional netting enclosures) are a very popular supply option for golf cage nets, batting cage nets, and multisport training nets that require a completely netted-off area.  Most custom enclosure nets include both side walls, both end-panels, and the ceiling netting all seamed-together with rope bordering and ready to hang/suspend within your framing structure or installation area (many times by being clipped to tensioned cables/wires).  However, since Gourock.com is able to facilitate a very wide variety of custom netting designs and options there are lots of other characteristics and features that are also available to be incorporated into the final product construction.  For instance, sometimes there are overlapping entrance doors built into the eating walls.  Other times there are additional ceiling lines or weighted-rope (leadline) bottoms sewn-in.  We have shipped out a lot of enclosure/cage nets that have an open-end, or an un-seamed/loose corner area to pass-through and enter the area.  Sometimes the overall shape has a taper or angle to it, or even something like a notched-out shape to correlate with the shape of the installation space.  We have many examples of custom cage nets and enclosure nets all throughout this company blog and also on the Gourock.com site - and the site does also include online batting cage net and golf cage net calculators for you to enter any dimensions that you prefer to have made!

Custom golf cage nets and batting cage nets are produced with the highest quality DuPont® Type 66-728 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting, and from a good variety of twine thicknesses and mesh sizes.  Custom nets from Gourock are 100% American Made, from the DuPont® nylon materials to the hand craftsmanship that gets them done.  Production timing is quite prompt, and pricing is very good from Gourock.com - especially for the premium nylon netting materials, products, craftsmanship, and custom options that are available to you.  Whether you are planning a custom net for a private installation, a commercial sports training business, or for a school/university/municipality purpose - feel free to contact us for a quotation!

Here are two examples from the last two weeks of custom nylon enclosure nets that we quoted, sold, produced, and shipped out.  These examples are for two completely different intended applications - but provide some good context on the different netting and construction features available to you as you do your research into custom nets!

Customer Feedback on Custom Nylon Netting for Railings

The nylon netting that we have available at Gourock.com is prepared per-order, so it allows you to have the material produced to most any particular dimensions that you require for your project.  Which is very helpful, since there are so many unique projects and applications for nylon nets!  Most people are relatively familiar with some of the most common uses for nylon netting, for instance golf barrier installations, sports stadiums/arenas, and gymnasiums.  However there are hundreds of multipurpose netting applications that we supply products for.   Since the nylon nets are strong, dependable, and fabricated with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship - they are well suited to be used in a wide variety of unique ways.

Generally speaking, the most typical netting that Gourock.com supplies for most customized projects is the DuPont® Type 66-728 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting.  The reason for this is because that netting option has a pretty large selection of mesh sizes and twine thicknesses to select from, can be built and prepared to specified dimensions, is very user-friendly, and is a robust choice for both outdoor and indoor installations.  In fact, you can use Gourock's online netting calculator to enter your own preferred sizing and then review the different options and pricing.  And you can place the order right through the site as well, so it is very convenient for anyone seeking multipurpose netting for their projects.

A customer from earlier this spring just emailed over some great feedback and photos of his custom netting installation, and it is a nice example of something unique and functional that made a big difference on their property.  The netting in this case is one of our most popular selections for general multipurpose applications - the #21 X 1-3/4" knotted nylon netting with 5/16" rope bordering sewn-in around the edges.

Thank you again for your appreciated business and feedback Dennis!

I don’t know if you get much customer feedback or not. I thought I would let you know that my project turned out wonderful. We have safely protected all the little kids from falling over the seawall on the river, and at the same time, we preserved the view with the netting. I have received numerous compliments. Attached are a couple of pics. Feel free to use me in your marketing as an example of a happy and well satisfied customer.

Kind regards
Dennis D

Indoor Netting for Commercial Sports Training Facilities

During the autumn and winter seasons, many parts of the country rely on indoor training facilities for their sports practices and workouts.  Some popular indoor facilities that Gourock.com supplies with netting concentrate on multisport training opportunities including golf, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, floor hockey, football, and basketball.

Generally speaking, using barrier netting throughout the indoor area is pretty important for a successful and safe commercial sports training environment.  Netting protects athletes and spectators from moving balls and equipment, and the netting also is used to protect structural elements of the building itself including lighting, entrances/windows, ventilation infrastructure, and finished walls or construction.  Depending on the sizes of the objects that need to be contained or blocked, the netting that gets installed within these areas can be fabricated from a few different mesh sizes - and in a few different ways of being prepared.

For instance, say a baseball and softball training facility wants to use barrier netting to protect their lights, and also around the turf area of their practice field.  In that case, a 1-3/4" knotted nylon netting is the way to go.  If that same facility says that they will also be doing soccer drills, well the netting should stay at the same mesh size because it will still need to block the baseballs - but will naturally work great for larger objects like soccer balls.
However - if that facility is also planning on offering training areas for golf, well then the mesh size needs to get down to a 3/4" so that the golf balls are properly contained.  And then, since that 3/4" mesh works great for the golf balls it will naturally function well for the larger baseballs, softballs, and soccer balls.  The best tip regarding mesh size is to determine what the smallest object is that needs to be contained - and then utilize that mesh for the area.  Many indoor facilities actually use a combination of different mesh sizes for various areas of their overall space - since its possible that the golf is only being done in one particular section, whereas the soccer and baseball/softball are concentrated in other areas.  The takeaway is that every facility is different and has its own unique set of parameters and owner preferences, but the netting itself can certainly be prepared to size and per order by Gourock.com and then shipped right out.

Aside from determining which netting twine thickness and mesh size will be best suited for the job, there is also the design of the netting itself.  In this context the design is referring to how the mesh is created and prepared - and the choices are typically between a series of individual 2-dimensional netting panels or an overall larger 3-dimensional enclosure that covers a large area.  We at Gourock.com are unable to specifically advise which approach to go with, since it really is determined by the building, the installer/contractor, and the intended design of the space.  Many times the most optimal approach selected is a series of individual nets, which is a great way to go and is very intuitive.  Gourock produces the nets to whatever particular 2 dimensions needed, and you can view dozens of examples of these nets through this blog and on the Gourock.com site.  For many other facilities the more preferred approach is to have a customized enclosure net produced that will cover the whole area with netting, including all 4 sides and the top ceiling.

For these 2 recent examples of commercial training facility nets that were manufactured and shipped out over the last few weeks show a couple general examples of each approach.  Through Gourock you can have nets made from 100% USA Made Nylon Netting and the finest hand-craftsmanship, shipped direct to your location.  Once you have a relative idea of the netting that you're after, certainly feel free to send over a message with your request or information right through our online contact page and we can get working on the netting solution for you.

Example 1
netting details: #15 X 3/4" twisted-knotted nylon + #21 X 3/4" twisted-knotted nylon
custom features: enclosure design with expanded sizing/volume, center-ceiling lines installed, rope bordering, secondary layer of impact/reinforcement netting
intended use: golf training facility

Example 2
netting details: #36 X 1-3/4" twisted-knotted nylon
custom features: enclosure design with custom entrance doors, ceiling netting panel with center-ceiling lines installed, perimeter netting with rope bordering
intended use: baseball/softball and multisport training facility (soccer, lacrosse, volleyball)

Golf Barrier Netting and Nylon Nets Custom Built

For any property owner or manager that has a location near a golf course, driving range, fairway, or hitting/practice area - there will certainly be situations where a protective barrier is necessary to protect infrastructure and people from incoming golf balls.  Whether it be errant shots, proximity issues, or changes in the local course fairway, there are many instances where incoming golf balls destroy windows and siding or actually cause physical injury to a person on the property.  With the many advancements in golf club and ball technology, golfers are hitting further distances than ever - putting a lot of property at risk that typically didn't have any issues with flying golf balls in the past.  At Gourock.com we hear dozens of stories from customers that tell of multiple broken windows, solar panels, siding panels, car windshields, roof shingles, and even impacts to people's heads and torsos from driven golf balls coming from the course or range.

This is obviously a major concern for property owners that wish to feel secure at their own location and avoid all from all of these potential situations.  Luckily, Gourock.com can very much contribute to a solution by being your source for Golf Barrier Netting.  Golf barrier nets are nets that have a small enough mesh size to property block and contain golf balls that are coming-in from a typical hitting distance, without the mesh size being unnecessarily small (which will only increase netting weight, diminish visibility, and add product cost).  Also, the twine thickness of golf barrier netting really does need to be relatively thin so that there aren't a lot of issues with wind shear/drag, or having too much netting weight (which can affect the installation poles and hardware, as well as adding cost for no real benefit).  And thirdly, golf barrier nets are the type of product that generally get hung/installed with the intention of staying up all the time - so they need to be fabricated from a material that allows for continuous outdoor exposure for the long haul.

So a netting option that is strong, thin, light, dependable, with a low wind-shear.  How about having it produced to most any customized dimensions that is needed for the job, and 100% Made in the USA?
Well at Gourock.com we have a perfect option for your consideration, which is the 1" mesh DuPont® Type 66-728 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting.  We supply this netting in a couple of different twine thicknesses:

  • #18 (1.8mm, 191 lb./tensile)
  • #12 (1.7mm, 116 lb./tensile)
Both of these twine options feature an additional Tar-Coating - which is an extra protective coating applied to the netting to maximize resilience to UV exposure and moisture.  Both options are produced with a 5/16" rope bordering sewn-in the the perimeter edges and are available to price out and order online through our custom golf barrier netting calculator, which is located on this part of the Gourock site.

The #12 X 1" nylon netting is the thinner of the two options, and is the most popular selection for most residential installations or for customers that want to truly minimize the visual effect of the barrier netting when it is up.  It is a very long-lasting tarred material that will still have at least 50% of it's original new tensile strength after 7 years of outdoor usage and exposure.

The #18 X 1" nylon netting is the selection for most commercial or industrial installations - as its extra twine thickness and tensile strength allows for the material to retain at least 50% of its original tensile strength after 10 years of outdoor usage and exposure.  This netting is the most recommended for driving ranges, commercial course fairways, municipalities, and other non-residential netting installations.  That said - many, many people use the #18 at home and some commercial clients prefer to use the #12 at their facility.  There is always personal preference involved based on expectations and pricing, so we do have both options readily available at Gourock.com for your convenience!

Now the majority of golf barrier nets are fairly straightforward rectangular or square-shaped panels that are produced according to the height and width that our customers need for their area.  However, there are many times that the netting itself needs to be produced with even more customization in mind so that the material closely lines-up with existing structures, poles, or cabling supports that may already be in-place.  We see this for both residential customers that are putting up a barrier netting that is going to hang form a roofline or gutter, and also of large golf driving ranges that have different height poles along their total length.  Tapered and angled netting panels for both situations are facilitated and shipped by Gourock all the time, no problem at all!  If you are in the position where you think that a more customized shape to the barrier netting is worth a consideration, certainly feel free to use the upload option on our contact page to forward over the labelled sketch/drawing of the netting panel that you are seeking and we can take a look and reply back with a quote for you (or - clarifying questions if required).  Also, we do supply free samples of the 1" DuPont® nylon golf barrier netting as well - so as you're doing your research feel free to also send us a mailing address and we'll get the sample swatches in the mail for you.

Below are three recent examples of golf barrier netting jobs that were specified by our customers, and then produced and shipped out to their job sites in order to best fit their installation areas.  Each of these were made from the 1" tarred twisted-knotted nylon netting with 5/16" rope bordering installed.  The first drawing are some commercial range nets that were made from the #18 twine thickness, the second was a private residence that was built from the #12 twine thickness, and the third example drawing was a private residence that opted for the thicker #18 twine for increase resilience to their local environment (very high UV and wind).
Each one of these has dramatically different sizing characteristics, but all also reflect a taper to the shape - allowing you to get a bit more context into some of the custom nylon netting options available to you from Gourock.com

Customized Nylon Golf Cage Nets & Netting

There are many golfers that love to train and practice their swing within their own hitting environment, and a perfect solution for this is to use some appropriate netting to properly contain driven golf balls.  There are quite a few different techniques and approaches that work well for golf impact and hitting areas, but one of the most recommend is a netting enclosure.

Often called Golf Cage Nets, these netting enclosures are 3-dimensional netting productions that include side walls, ceiling netting, and end panel(s) that are all seamed-together with rope bordering.  So right out of the box you are all set to hang/suspend/clip the netting right up to the framing or installation structure that you're using for the project.  Overall, the most commonly considered "standard" golf cage netting is 10' high X 10' wide X 10' deep, and the front end (10' X 10') is "open" so that you have the area to be driving and hitting from.  At Gourock.com we have a very popular standard-issue poly/knotless golf cage net that is a fantastic solution for many people - and it is available so also be supplied with an optional steel framing as well.  Here is the part of the Gourock site that you can take a look at this golf cage netting option.

Alternatively - we also provide golf cage nets produced from the 100% American-Made DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon netting.  The nice aspect of this option is that we provide an online pricing and ordering calculator that allows you to have the nylon golf cage nets made to any dimensions that you require for your project.  These nets don't have a framing option (we don't do custom framing structures), but most any custom net like this is being needed as a component of an existing structure, or as part of a project that is incorporating the installation structure on it's own.  Also - the nylon nets have a couple of different twine thicknesses available to select from (currently the #15 X 3/4" nylon and the #21 X 3/4" nylon) as well as optional impact panels nets, and divider net options depending on the width of the cage.  So if you are seeking a golf cage net that is produced to your own specific sizing preferences, and is ready within a business week (on avg.), here is the part of the Gourock site that brings you to the Custom Golf Cage Net Calculator.

And then, one of the other options that we have available at Gourock.com are golf nets that are quite customized, and produced to very unique sizes/shapes and with different features that are specifically requested by our customers for the job.  We have many examples of customized golf cage nets and netting enclosures noted throughout this company blog as well as on the Gourock site, and we have nets like these prepared for all kinds of customers ranging from private/residential users all the way up to commercial and collegiate training installations.

These highly-personalized netting productions are also built from the 3/4" twisted-knotted nylon netting, and the best way to start-off getting your requested examined is to use the upload option on our contact page to send over a drawing/diagram (with dimensions) of what you're ultimately aiming for.  At that point we can take a look, and in most cases reply back with the initial pricing quote for the production.  Or, of course, we'll followup first with any clarifying questions about your request and get those answers squared-away first.
Here are a couple of examples of some customized golf cage nets from the last few weeks that incorporate some pretty specific sizes, construction details, and features.  These were requested by our customers, examined and quoted/drawn-up for approval, and then produced and shipped direct to their final locations.

Example 1
netting details:  #15 X 3/4" twisted-knotted nylon
custom features:  expanded sizing/volume, completely enclosed (no "open" end), center-ceiling line
intended use:  training facility, training ball containment

Example 2
netting details:  #21 X 3/4" twisted-knotted nylon
custom features:  tapered shape, specific dimensions, secondary layer impact netting
intended use:  private use indoor installation (to match-up with available room size)

Here is an example of some custom batting cage nets that have been produced and shipped in the last couple weeks.  These were built from the #36 X 1-3/4" (381 lb.) DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon, and were fully rope bordered on all edges with 5/16" braided polyester ropes.  There were a couple of specifically-requested entrance doors and locations that were needed, and these nets were delivered to a commercial batting cage and baseball training facility.

Custom Netting Shapes for Unique Spaces & Areas

Barrier netting is often needed to be installed within areas or spaces that incorporate unique shapes, tapers, angles, and overall dimensions.  There are lots of situations in which it would be best to have a customized net provided that matches the shape in question, rather than trying to work with bulk sections of netting or attempting to modify/adjust a general square or rectangular net to work or fit as expected.  Some typical examples of this are nets that need to line up with rooflines, installed cables or wires, loft spaces or ceilings, or to match a sloping floor or ceiling.

Gourock.com supplies netting built-to-order, according to most any dimensions that you require for your particular project.  Most jobs are easily handled with regular square/rectangular dimensions, which can be priced and ordered through the Gourock.com Online Netting Calculator.  However, should you need a netting design to match a more customized shape or area - Gourock.com has these sorts of nets produced and shipped out very frequently.  Simply use our contact page to submit your quote request (and you can use the opportunity to upload sketches/diagrams as well) and we can summarize a quote for what we have available to supply for the job.

Generally speaking, customized netting panels that include tapers and angles are manufactured using DuPont® Type 66-728 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting with 5/16" Rope Bordering (sewn-in).  We offer a variety of twine thicknesses and mesh sizes from this netting type, so there are always good options to consider for your particular application.  This nylon netting is 100% American Made, and the finished netting panels are also fabricated by-hand in Washington State as well.  The nylon netting that is available through Gourock has a very high abrasion resistance and tensile strength, is completely UV stabilized and bonded against moisture, and has the expectation of many years of consistent usage and exposure.  Great for outdoor and indoor installations, the knotted nylon netting that we use for custom netting panels has a great ease-of-use and is applicable for an enormous number of varied applications.
Free samples of the netting are also available to be mailed - simply contact Gourock.com if you're interested in them.

Here are four recent examples of custom netting panels that incorporate the features, materials, and constructions that are all noted above.  These examples will help provide some additional context into the types of nylon nets that are able to be specified by yourself and then produced and shipped by us:

Nylon Netting Featuring Custom Cut-Outs and Notches

Gourock.com specializes in the supply of high-quality netting and netting products, including customized fabrication options.  Custom netting productions can include a variety of unique features including special dimensions, tapers and angles, and notches or cut-outs in the finished shape.

Nets that are to be made to customized shapes are generally used for specific areas of coverage.  For instance, on a lot of warehouse locations there are beams/rafters/voids that need to be covered with barrier/containment netting for some reason or another, but in order to be effective the netting has to be constructed with a taper, angle, or notch to fit the unique space.  In other examples there are existing poles or frames that are already in-place and require netting to have a special shape in order to be effective.  We also see many residential customers that need their barrier netting to fill-in a specific region of their homes or properties - such as spaces above lofts, ceilings, railings, or rooflines.

Gourock.com has the ability to examine, quote, and supply custom netting that is prepared per-order to match your specific sizing needs.  Netting is used for a high range of athletic, safety, multipurpose, and aesthetic applications - along with industrial, agricultural, and professional uses as well.  Whether you are representing a large corporation, a municipal or scholastic organization, or are a private individual - feel free to drop over a line our way through Gourock.com and let us know what you are aiming for.  Chances are very good that we'll have some fabrication and material options available to you for a custom netting production that will be an excellent solution for your project.

Here are three recent examples of some custom nylon netting orders that each feature a notch or cut-out within the final net design, and we hope that these help provide you with a bit more context on what is available to you from Gourock.com:

Custom Nylon Nets for Sports Courts, Fields, and Facilities

Nylon netting is such a great product solution for so many different applications because it has a high tensile strength, high abrasion resistance, is user-friendly, and from Gourock.com it can be prepared to most any particular sizes that are required for the job.  A significant part of the market for netting includes people that need to contain objects and balls within sports courts, practice fields, and within athletic facilities.  Each one of these types of netting installations has its own unique characteristics and sizes to be considered, as well as what types of balls/objects are being contained by the net itself.

Gourock.com supplies DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon netting in a great variety of mesh sizes and twine thicknesses.  This netting is what is supplied and installed in the majority of sports training areas and courts.  Gourock can have the netting prepared to your own customized dimensions and sizes, so that you can achieve the best possible fit and appearance for the overall netting installation and finished job.

A high number of netting panels that are manufactured for stadiums/fields, courts, and athletic centers feature even more unique shape features and sizing requirements.  Often including tapers, angles, or unique shapes - the custom nets supplied by Gourock can be made to most closely line-up with the contours of the available space, or to closely connect to the existing installation structure.  For instance, an indoor sports training facility may need some tapered nets to follow the angle of their roofline.  Or a set of barrier nets around a court may need to be angled to match the dimensions of exiting poles and wires.  Every installation is different, and should you want to source customized netting panels to most accurately complete your job - contact us at Gourock.com with your details and we can get a quote made for what we can supply.

All custom nylon nets from Gourock.com are 100% Made in the USA, and turnaround times are quick.  DuPont® 66-728 knotted nylon netting is a very high-end material with superior strength and durability for full-time outdoor and indoor installations.

A Couple of Interesting Custom Batting Cage Nets

Baseball and softball batting cage nets can be found at people's private homes, at schools and park/rec departments, universities, stadiums, and training facilities.  For many, many years Gourock.com has supplied hundreds of customers with batting cage nets that are best suited for that user's particular needs.  Most batting cage nets are constructed in a fairly basic netting "tunnel" design, with a consistent height X width X length.  Different types of netting materials and strengths are available, and most customers pick a net that best aligns with their sizing needs, their expected amount of wear-and-tear, and of course their preferences on pricing.  Gourock.com offers a great selection of high-quality batting cage nets that perform very well for all types of different installations and users - and you can get a good context on these "typical" netting designs on this part of our site.

But there is another side to batting cage netting, which generally leans towards customized designs and sizing requirements.  There are a few primary situations in which the customized batting cage netting productions are often needed - with the main one being that there is an existing installation structure or area that is unique in shape or size and the only functional way to get a net hung correctly is to have it built to best match the space.  We see this often with commercial baseball and softball training facilities, as well as a lot of indoor installations.  Another typical situation in which the batting cage netting needs to be more customized is for "plus sized" nets.  This is typically an installation that requires extra height, width, and length - usually for multiple training/hitting areas in a row.  Separate divider panel nets usually accompany the enclosure netting for these types of orders.

Gourock.com has custom batting cage nets constructed from the highest quality materials, including DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon netting, and braided Dacron® ropes.  Featuring 100% Made in the USA materials and craftsmanship, and quick manufacturing turnaround, custom netting and enclosures from Gourock are available to be produced according to most any sizing specifications that you have for your project, business, facility, school/team, or municipal organization.

Here are a couple of examples from this spring that show some of the customized features and designs that we are capable of providing for batting cage netting enclosures.  These are both for commercial training facilities and have various unique characteristics that were requested by our customers so that the finished product fit their particular installation areas the best.

Example 2:
